It’s Your Birthday! – InKing Royalty Blog Hop

It's Your Birthday

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s February Blog Hop! Stampin’ Up!’s Occasions Catalog is filled with amazing products to help you celebrate birthdays in style – from festive balloons to birthday buds, there’s something for everyone. Today’s It’s Your Birthday Blog Hop is filled with inspiring projects that share great birthday ideas – we are excited to share what we’ve made and hope you’ll find great inspiration from our talented team members in this hop. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the bottom of this post.

My project for today’s blog hop is a teepee birthday card! Teepee cards are perfect for birthday cards, because it stands up on its own and the recipient can proudly display it :).

Teepee Birthday Card

They’re quite easy to make! You need 1 piece of 8″ x 4″ card stock and 1 piece of 4″ x 4″ card stock. Score the 4″ x 4″ piece diagonally from corner to corner. On the 8″ x 4″ piece, score on the long side at 4″ (the center). Then from the center score line, score diagonally from the top of the center scoreline to the bottom corner on each side of the center score line. You’ll have 6 triangular panels that you can add Designer Series Paper to. I cut 3 – 3-3/4″ square pieces and cut them corner to corner to create 6 triangles and adhered them to each triangular section. Then you adhere the 4″ x 4″ piece over the 8″ x 4″ piece. Here’s a picture of what that looks like from the inside of the teepee card:

I added a Velcro dot to the card to hold it in its teepee shape, but it can be folded flat to ship in a medium (A2) envelope like so:

This was a super fun card to make and I see more teepee cards in my future! Perhaps I will create a ‘how-to’ video? 🙂

Today is a special day as it’s my daughter Lillie’s 3rd birthday! How is that possible when I feel like I just held her in my arms for the first time? Happy, Happy Birthday, my dear Lillie Lou!
