Myths & Magic Card in a Box

Today’s project is a card/box duo using products from the new Myths & Magic Suite!

On the left is a box created with the Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies and the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper. On the right is a Whisper White Narrow Note Card featuring the Magical Day stamp set and a watercolor wash created with Brusho!

The Narrow Note Card fits perfectly in the box – perfect for a set of note cards! In this case, I wanted to dress up the gift of a gift card by putting it, with the card, in a special box!

For the note card, I created a watercolor wash using the blue and green colors in Brusho. I sprinkled the Brusho crystals onto a clear block and dropped water on the powder with my Aqua Painter. Then, I just picked up color and washed it over the note card where I wanted it. Before it dried, I also flicked some Bermuda Bay ink onto it using a Stampin’ Write Marker. I added a few “bubbles” using the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes.

I colored in the adorable mermaid using Stampin’ Blends and cut her out using the Magical Mates Framelits Dies. I added a little bit of DSP to the envelope flap by gluing it up to the edge of the fold and then just fussy cutting around the flap for a perfect overlay!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day!

  1. Such a great project, Julie! I worked with these dies at my club yesterday – quite wonderful! Love how you’ve showcased the magical mermaid!

  2. Great card Julie. I think my Lovely Lillie should have a mermaid themed birthday party with something very similar as the invitation. I can also envision something similar for a little Knight I know.

  3. How did you make the box? The stamp set/matching dies don’t show a die for the box. I must be missing something. I love the card and envelope. My granddaughter would love this design. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

  4. PS: Thanks for describing how you’d worked with using the Brusho powder; I always appreciate learning the “how tos!” 🙂 Cheers!
