I wanted to make a bunch of these. I’m glad I always do a prototype first. The lid is too small, as the others have said. I’m saddened that Julie doesn’t read and/or respond to comments to correct a measurement.
Hi Alexa! Thanks for your comment! The measurements for this project from 4 years ago are correct (I just confirmed them again). I’m not sure why so many have had difficulty with the lid fitting. The only thing I can think of is that the Envelope Punch Board from WeRMemoryKeepers may have evolved over time since the version Stampin’ Up! sold 4 years ago. That could be causing the box base to be a slightly different size, which would affect how the lid fits. The box base, when finished, should be 13/16″H x 1-9/16″W x 1-1/16″D. If yours is not that size, then the lid dimensions I provided won’t fit. What are the measurements of your box base?
Thanks for your reply. My box is the right dimensions for four Andes Mints. I’ll have to use my math skills and make a lid to fit.
I’m happy to help you with the measurements for the lid if you can provide the dimensions of the box ❤️
Thanks for the offer. I cut the piece for the lid ever so slightly bigger than your dimensions and it fits.
Great to hear!
I’m having trouble with these as well. I made the adjustments as per the last comment, but the lids are still too small and the bottom holds 5 not 4 candies. Has anyone else tried anything different that works?
Mary and Amy I had the same problem making my boxes. I changed the size of paper for the bottom to 3 5/8 x 3 5/8. Used Julie’s measurement for the envelope punch board and everything seems to fit.
I have the same problem with the lids. I have tried 10 times … trying all different ways.. Is it me …or are the directions not quite right.. There is a small error somewhere. I wish I could make correctly. Sorry..
Thanks.. If you could give me any help.
Help! All of my lids are too small for the box bottoms. I know how to measure – I’m a math teacher. Why are they too small? Ideas on adjustments? Or should i just buy a new paper cutter?
Thank you!! This is perfect & I, too needed a box for these yummy mints.
Love, Love, Love all of your stuff. Very cute little gift.
So. Stinkin’. Cute.
Julie, I love little projects as I do a lot of Thank You gifts for my son in law, customers. I’m already in the process of making these!! Thanks for another great project.
Stupid question: Will the mini Tic Tacs still fit?
Hello Julie: My name is Maria Rodriguez, I found your amazing blog through Mary Fish, who has been my SU demonstrator for over 10 years.
I don’t recall the first time I saw one of your videos, but I was instantly in love with your creativity and talent, your cheery disposition and your generosity sharing what you love in your videos for all of us to see.
I’ve had some troubles with Blogger for sometime now, where my comments don’t get posted on some blogs I follow so, my granddaughter told me of one of her friends who knows the twists and turns of the Internet and she came to help me debug my computer and now it’s working a bit smoother.
I really hope you see this comment about this incredibly sweet little box, I love it and it’s just so perfect for these sweet chocolate treats.
Thank you again for all your fantastic videos, I sure appreciate your talent and creativity and I’m grateful you share it with us.
Sending love and hugs.
Maria Rodriguez.
Cute box and your instructions are easy to follow!
