6×6 Treat Pouch & Zig-Zag Fun Fold

Today, I have a 6×6 treat pouch and a Zig-Zag fun fold for you featuring products from the Lily Pond Lane Suite! I’ve demystified cutting the angles on this fun fold card and the treat pouch is another great project using a 6×6 piece of patterned paper!

The Lily Pond Lane Suite of products are so fun to work with – bright & cheerful too! I had so much fun designing these projects!

6×6 Treat Pouch

This treat pouch was so fun to design! There are no vertical score lines (except for 1 in the back), so the edges have a softer look. The pouch closes with a tab & Velcro Dot in the back.

And after lifting the tab, you simply pinch the pouch to open.

And here’s another look at how the pouch opens:

I see many of these pouches in my future! They’re a great way to give someone a gift or a treat – while using your beautiful patterned papers!

Here’s the template for reference (not to scale):

PROJECT MEASUREMENTS:

  • Finished Size – 4″H x 2-3/4″W x 1″D
  • Designer Series Paper – 6″ x 6″
    • With pattern running left-to-right, score at 1″ and 5″
    • Rotate clockwise and score down to first score line at 2-1/4″ and 5″, then score
all the way down at 5-1/2″
    • Rotate 180° and score down to first score line at 1-1/2″, 3-1/4″, and 4-1/4″

Zig-Zag Fun Fold Card

This Zig-Zag Fun Fold card is a great way to showcase multiples patterns of coordinating paper! I know the angles of this fun fold can be intimidating, so I’ve tried to make it easy to cut them using your Paper Trimmer!

Here’s what the Zig-Zag Fun Fold looks like when open:

You can create 2 from 1 sheet of 8-1/2″ x 11″ cardstock! TIP: You need to cut the cardstock BEFORE scoring, as the scoring won’t line up properly if you score before cutting.

Here’s the card layout for reference:

PROJECT MEASUREMENTS:

  • Cardstock – 8-1/2″ x 11″
    • Along the 8-1/2″ side, add a tick mark at 3″; Rotate 180° and repeat
    • Cut diagonally from tick mark to tick mark to create 2 card bases
    • Score at 3″ from short side and 4-1/4″ from tall side
  • Designer Series Paper:
    • 5-1/4″ x 4″ (portrait)
    • 4-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ (portrait)
    • 3-7/16″ x 2-3/4″ (portrait)
  • Basic White (optional inside panel) – 4-1/4″ x 3-1/2″

    2. I always enjoy your videos. They are very concise and easy to follow. I do have to convert things a bit because I don’t have a scoreboard just a paper trimmer. I really like that you have a card and a 3d project. Thanks for all the wonderful ideas

    3. Hi Julie, Thank you for allowing me subscribe to your website.

I live in Australia, so unfortunately I will not be able to support your business. I have enjoyed your Youtubes for such a long time, loving your cards and matching boxes.

      Many Thanks again,

    4. Love the card and pouch! I love it when a project can be made from a 6×6 piece of DSP, making 4 treats from a 12×12! I make many of your treat containers for my grandkids classrooms and for RAK’s one of my favorites is the Mentos triangle box!

    6. Julie,
You come up with some of the cutest ideas and the way you show us and explain how to do them, it makes things easy for us. Thank you so much for that. I know, most of your creations are for small treats. I’d like to say I’d love some bigger ideas. I made several of the impossible boxes a couple of Christmases ago and would like some larger ideas like that again. Do you have any plans to make some larger creations? If not, do you think you could entertain that idea? Thanks. Bobbie Rosenberger

    16. As always, the card and the fun fold design is great. The treat pouch is adorable and looks to be a generous size. I’ll be making both of these projects today to keep out of the heat! My desk is lined up with all the treat projects from the last 4 episodes. Thanks again for more inspiration!
