Today’s card is a 40th birthday card for a coffee lover using Stampin’ Up!’s new Coffee Cups Framelits Dies!
Doesn’t it look like I spilled coffee on this card? LOL! To create the watercolored background, I spritzed a piece of watercolor paper generously with water. Then I took a clear block and inked it up directly on the stamp pad. Once inked up, I “smooshed” it onto the watercolor paper, moving it around until I got ink where I wanted it. I reapplied ink several times until I was happy with the result. Once dry, I stamped the coffee rings from the Timeless Textures stamp set a few times in Crumb Cake ink and splattered some Early Espresso ink using a Stampin’ Write Marker.
How cool is the coffee cup and the textured sleeve? There’s also a fabulous stamp set that the Coffee Cup Framelits Dies coordinate (available at a bundled price!). If you’re a coffee lover, it should probably go on your ‘gotta have it’ list!
“Look who’s turning” comes from the Number of Years stamp set and I cut out the number 40 using the Large Numbers Framelits dies. They were too plain, so I opted to give them some texture from the new Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions embossing folder!
