In today’s blog post, I’m sharing coordinated Mother’s Day projects – a treat box & a fun fold card! The Elevated Hershey’s Miniature Gift Box holds 4 chocolates and the Envelope Flap Card is a horizontal take on a great fun fold!

These projects evoke such a cheerful, Spring feeling, don’t they? This pattern from the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper just makes me happy! It’s the perfect backdrop for Mother’s Day projects!
Elevated Hershey’s Miniature Gift Box
This cute little gift box is an elegant way to gift Hershey’s Miniatures with its “half shadow box” style. My inspiration for this box comes from the box Andes Mints come in! Here’s what the inside looks like:
I love adding a sentiment to the inside of a box – a fun little surprise for the recipient! I chose to create a box to hold 4 Hershey’s Minatures because, according to the packaging, it’s the serving size (giggle)!
(You could wrap the Hershey’s Miniatures with some Designer Series Paper, but you’d likely need to expand the width measurement (and the Designer Series Paper measurements) by 1/8″.)
Here’s the template for reference (not to scale):
PROJECT MEASUREMENTS:
- Cardstock (box) – 7-3/4″ x 8-3/8″
- Score along the 8-3/8″ side at 1/2″, 1-1/2″, 2″, and 3″ and repeat on opposite side
- Score along the 7-3/4″ side at 1″, 2″, 3-7/8″, 4-7/8″, and 6-3/4″
- Cardstock (belly band) – 1″ x 6-1/2″
- Designer Series Paper:
- 1-3/4″ x 2-1/4″ (1 pc – landscape)
- 7/8″ x 2-1/4″ (3 pcs – landscape)
- 7/8″ x 1-3/4″ (2 pcs – landscape)
Envelope Flap Card
Have you tried your hand at an Envelope Flap Card? It’s a great way to showcase patterned paper! There are many alternatives to this card – this is one of my favorites with the way it opens! The envelope flap opens up like a traditional envelope and the card opens down like a truck tailgate!
The sentiment piece holds this card together – the envelope flap tucks just behind it with strategically placed Stampin’ Dimensionals!
Here’s how the inside looks:
So cool! I hope you’ll give this fun fold a try!
PROJECT MEASUREMENTS:
- Card Base – 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
- Basic White (card fold) – 7-1/2″ x 5″
- Score along the 7-1/2″ side at 3-3/4″
- Basic White (embossed layer) – 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″
- Designer Series Paper – 3-5/8″ x 3-5/8″
- Score diagonally, corner to corner
