Diagonal Closure Treat Box

Today’s project is a Diagonal Closure Treat Box sized to fit a Ferrero Rocher (or similar treat)! While I have made several versions of this style box, this one is the smallest. It would be fun to hide a little message with a smaller treat like a Hershey’s Kiss!

This treat box stays closed without assistance from Velcro, magnets, etc. and I’ve added a tab for easy opening! A circle punch notch (finger notch) would work too!

Here’s how the box looks open:

I strategically placed the Rafaello/Ferrero Rocher/Rond Noir on its side so that the tab closure works without too much fuss. Here’s another look at the inside:

This project features the beautiful Full of Life Designer Series Paper with the Friends for Live Bundle. To add a little depth to the hearts, I pulled some of the ink using our Blender Pens.

The tab I used comes from the Lovely & Sweet Dies, but you could easily create your own or simply add a finger notch for easy opening.

This project is easy to adjust the width – just change the 4″ starting measurement and the rest of the measurements remain the same! This box is 1-1/2″ wide with the 4″ measurement, so, for example, if you want your project to be 3-1/2″ wide, you’d start with a 6″ x 6″ piece of paper. Hope that helps!

Here’s the template for reference (not to scale):

  1. As always the kids just love these projects. Of course, the smaller ones just like to
play but the older ones are in love with these projects. By the way, the kids (6 of them)
are working on a gift for you. I’m not sure what it is. Hopefully, it won’t take too long to
complete. Summer camp is a week away and the 6 kids are heading to summer camp.
Hopeful, your package will be on its way soon.

  2. I have been watching your videos for over a year now and never thought to make a comment. I have made almost all of your treat containers to give to my church friends. When there’s a birthday they get the matching card. Thanks for sharing your treat boxes and cards.
