Today’s project is a Flip-Top Gift Box for a lip balm! I designed this for the EOS Super Balm Minis, but it will also fit many other brands of lip balm! This unique style gift box is a fun way to package up a lip balm for a gift – or even rolled up cash or a check for the perfect gift!

This flip-top gift box was so fun to create! I was inspired by this project shared by Heather Forgan at Stamp with Nellie.
Here’s a look at how the box opens:

I added a fold-over edge detail to give the lid a nice finish and to protect the edge allowing it to be opened many times! Here’s another view of the lid open:

And here’s a look at the box without the ribbon closure (it doesn’t need one to stay closed):

While I sized this box to fit the EOS Super Balm Minis, it also fits many other brands of lip balm! I found this adorable 3-pack of EOS Super Balm Minis at my local Target store, but they are also available on Amazon:
Here’s the template for reference (not to scale):

Loving all of your blogs, learning so much because ive been creating boxes and bags, doll furniture, birdhouses, etc. since childood. Your patterns are well developed and fun.
I especially love the Scoragami boxes…so clever.
Thank you for sharing the lip balm holder idea in time for Mothers’ Day. Made several of these lip balm boxes and included them in a small gift bag with some chocolate treats and Starbucks gift cards or cash. Everyone who received the gift bags were so impressed with the lip balm box and of course credit is always given were credit is due. I appreciate all of the time and energy you put into creating such wonderful cards and 3D projects and sharing them with us on your weekly and monthly patron lives. You are the best! Mahalo nui Julie! Rose
