I can’t help but sing the title to my blog post like “love is in the air…” – yay for Spring! Today’s card is inspired by this week’s Pals Paper Arts challenge – Easter/Spring. When I think Spring, I think flowers blooming! So I decided to play with some sneak peek items – the new Paisley Petals DSP and the Four Frames stamp set – aren’t they wonderful???
This card continued to evolve as I made it – I actually started with the paper rosettes, then the rest of the card came together. For the rosettes, I used a paper quilling tool then adhered the rose together using a glue dot. For the finishing touch on the rosettes, I painted Crystal Effects around the edges and then dipped them in some Dazzling Diamonds.
For the seam binding ribbon, I grabbed a center thread and pulled to cinch it. In order to get it to stay put while I did so, I adhered one end of the ribbon to my card first. The background for the card is the En Francais background stamp – stamped off once. I hope you like today’s card and thanks for stopping by!

Stunning card! I love everything about it. Thanks so much for playing along with us at PPA this week.
Hi – this is a beautiful card – I'm following from Stampin Connection!
@Jackie Thank you, Jackie! What is your blog address so I can return the favor? 🙂
@Anonymous Hi Jeneen – the Bravo Burgundy piece is actually the Stampin' Up! Decorative Label Punch. For the Bravo Burgundy frame, check out this tutorial: http://gretchenbarron.typepad.com/my_weblog/tutorial-framing-the-new-decorative-label-punch/
Beautiful card Julie…I have one question though,
how did you do the Bravo Burgundy piece? Is it a Sizzix die? Thanks…
Jeneen
Gorgeous card!
Wow – absolutely gorgeous flowers! This is stunning!
This is beautiful! I haven't done much with the fabric yet. I would love to try. Thanks for the inspiration.
@Anonymous Thanks, Ester! I actually haven't tried mailing cards with rosettes, but they're pretty sturdy so they might be ok. You'd definitely have to send them with a 64-cent stamp, since the Post Office wouldn't be able to run it through their machine. Hope this helps!
Nice! Love the rosettes…are they "flat" enough not to get mushed in the mail? esther
