Retiring In Colors – InKing Royalty Blog Hop

In Colors Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s April Blog Hop! Stampin’ Up! announced it’s retired list yesterday – while we are sad to see some of our favorite products leave the catalog, we are certain that some amazing new products are on their way. As we introduce the 2016-2018 In Colors to you, we know we have to say goodbye to the 2014-2016 In Colors. Today’s Blog Hop is filled with inspiring projects that share some great ideas – featuring Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Tangelo Twist, Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

While I will miss all of the 2014-2016 In Colors, the one I will miss the most is Blackberry Bliss (Lost Lagoon is a very close second)! So, my project for today is an ode to the rich, beautiful color of Blackberry Bliss.

Moroccan Nights

I just returned from OnStage Live (our semi-annual convention) with a mind full of inspiration and a bag full of goodies. One of those goodies was the new stamp set, Moroccan Nights, which we all received during the event! I couldn’t wait to ink it up! I created an ombre effect using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to perfectly align the border stamp in the set. I only inked up the border stamp once! The large medallion stamp in this set fits the Floral Frames Collection Framelits (retiring!) pretty well, so I cut it out, sponged the edges with a sponge dauber, and scrunched and wrinkled the piece to give it a textured, dimensional look. Our Gold Satin 5/8″ Ribbon looks beautiful paired with Blackberry Bliss, so I adhered a little folded piece of it behind the “flower medallion”. The final touch is a splattering of gold from the Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Brush! Here’s a close-up to try to show you the sparkle, although it doesn’t do it justice:

  2. Wow you are really good with a Stamp-a-ma-jig. Love the dimension in that flower and how you’ve balanced it with the rest of the card. So pretty.
