Grateful for Falling Flowers

Today’s card showcases Stampin’ Up!’s Falling Flowers stamp set and coordinating May Flowers Framelits!

This is one of those cards where I had an idea in my head and the more I played around with the layout of this card, the more I loved it! This is my first time inking up Falling Flowers and it’s LOVE! There’s lots of texture to this card – here are the different elements:

  • Ink Splatter – I flicked some Basic Black ink onto the Whisper White layer by pressing the brush end of my Stampin’ Write Marker into the cap and flicking it onto the paper
  • May Flowers Framelits – I cut a beautiful flower out of Fresh Fig
  • Shimmer Ribbon – I folded a small piece of Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon in half and layered it behind the May Flowers framelit cutout
  • Silver Glimmer – I cut out the Glimmer Paper using the smallest scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Framelits
  • Sequins – I adhered a trio of silver sequins from the Metallic Sequins Assortment

What do you think about all the different elements? Do you prefer making cards more clean and simple or lots of layers and texture? I’d love to hear from you!

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day!

  • Sweet Sugarplum card base – 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored and folded at 5-1/2″ (or folded in half)
  • Basic Black layer – 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″

  1. Stunning and elegant. Layering and die cuts add so much to a card versus the
single layer, stamped image which results in a very flat look. Love the color choices.

  2. This card is stunning. I had totally overlooked this stamp set and now I’m thinking I need it. I have so many SU enablers in my life, lol.

  3. Pretty ! I love a card with tastefully placed details . Yours is a good example (without looking TACKY ….southern word ….tee hee ) ! I have the stamps ,but have not gotten the Falling Flowers dies . The flower you used is the one that I like the most in that set .
This is a “keeper” layout !!

  4. Julie,

I thought this card was simple but elegant. I love the color combinations. I do not have the exact stamps you used, but I do have one that will work. I will use your color combination. Thanks for sharing.
