Today’s project is a mini explosion tag card that I demonstrated during my Weekly Wednesday Facebook Live last night!
How fun is that?!? What a sweet and different way to let a friend know that you’re thinking of them! This card was inspired by German demonstrator Sophia Pohle – you can see her project HERE.
What I love about this project is the combination of the sentiment on the outside and the surprise bouquet explosion on the inside! This will be a fun little card to carry multiples around with you to give as random acts of kindness. Don’t you think the recipient would be blown away? It’s so unexpected, but would mean the world to someone.
So, why don’t you make some yourself? Here’s my Facebook Live video tutorial to show you how:
Thank you so much to those of you who joined me live or watched the replay on my Facebook Page! I really appreciate it! I love doing my Facebook Lives, because I feel like I have all of you in my craft room with me!
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day!
Measurements:
- Emerald Envy tag card base – 2″ x 6″, scored and folded at 3″ (or folded in half)
- Pick a Pattern DSP layer – 1-7/8″ x 2-1/8″
- Whisper White explosion interior – 4″ x 4″, scored diagonally from corner to corner both ways, scored horizontally at 2″, and then scored on all 4 sides at 1″ and 3″, but only down to the diagonal score line all the way around. Here’s a visual template:

Hi Julie, Just wanted to let you know that your center horizontal score measurement is off. It says 3″ but should be 2″ as stated in your video. 🙂
Thank you! Another great project. I have a card maker friend recovering from shoulder surgery and will make this for her today. She will love it!
