Today’s project is a Thank You Card featuring ink blending using our new Blending Brushes! I am SO excited that we will be offering these in the new January-June 2021 Mini Catalog!
You’ll also notice another quick sneak peek of the Dragonfly Garden stamp set! Two of my favorite perks of being demonstrator are participating in pre-orders and attending Stampin’ Up! events. OnStage is usually an in-person event, but this year it became a virtual event, hence “OnStage@Home”. One of the many benefits (besides being able to wear pajamas – LOL) was the opportunity for so many more demonstrators to attend without the added travel expenses, so my upline, Brian King, and I hosted an “after party” for our team, which included sharing projects following this fun sketch that Brian designed:
So, this card was my artistic interpretation of his sketch!
I couldn’t wait to give my new Blending Brushes a test-drive, so I cut an additional 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″ layer of Whisper White and die-cut an oval from the center using the Layering Ovals Dies to use as a “stencil”. I grabbed ink pads that coordinate with the Dandy Garden Suite (Calypso Coral, Bumblebee, Mossy Meadow, Misty Moonlight) and had fun blending ink in rainbow order as the focal point of my card.
Then, I heat embossed the “thank you” sentiment in white on to a 3/4″ strip of Basic Black to layer over the ink blended oval, stamped a dragonfly in black towards the top of the oval and added a rhinestone for the finishing touch!

- Calypso Coral card base – 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored and folded in half at 5-1/2″
- Basic Black layer – 3-3/4″ x 5″
