I am so excited to share today’s project with you! I’m calling it a Swivel Gift Box, because the attached lid swivels open to reveal the contents! I sized this box to fit a Dove Hand Cream I found at Dollar Tree, but it’s also a perfect size for a set of 3″ x 3″ cards & envelopes! Once you make one of these, you won’t be able to stop playing with it – it’s so cool!

This box with a hinged lid that swivels to reveal its contents is such a cool style box! I was inspired by demonstrator Conni Richter’s project and “Pixiefied” it to fit a Dove Hand Cream.
Instead of adding a ribbon pull, I chose to trim away a corner to make it easy to open the box! This also shows a peek of a coordinating pattern of paper, which I love!
By holding the lower right corner with your right hand, you can open the lid with your left hand – and it swivels to do so. It’s so cool! Here’s a top view of the open box:
I showed during my livestream that you can also fit a set of 3″ x 3″ cards and envelopes, which I love to keep a stash of to give to people who have made my day!
Here’s one more look at this cool Swivel Box:
I hope you’ll give this project a try! I see many more of this style box in my future!
Here’s the template for reference (not to scale):

Have you made this smaller to fit a giradelli chocolate?
Can’t wait to make this box. I saw the hand cream in our Dollar store here in Aberdeen, Md. So I am going to make some for my ladies at our church for Christmas. Thanks so much for good directions. Oh, and my husband has hearing aids and said he could hear you really good and understand. So thank you for being well spoken and articulate.
So love this box. I ran down to my local Dollar Tree and picked a few Dove creams. They even had Dove Men Care Cream. I just assembled my first box but somehow the top looks backward. It hinges on the notched side.
I so enjoy your projects. creating them & sharing with others
